The Art of Science Communication (2018)

Above: 12 Months Over the Gulf of Carpentaria by Grayson Cooke

In November 2018, I curated an exhibition of visual art that sits at the space between art, design, science, and communication. It was first shown at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney (Powerhouse Museum), in conjunction with the Australian Science Communicators 2018 conference. A re-staging of the exhibition occurred later that month at the Queensland College of Art, Brisbane, in conjunction with the CreateWorld conference.

The works were selected from an open call advertised internationally and the selected works come from practicing artists, scientists, designer, and communicators, with a view to showing works that aren’t easily classified as coming from just one of these fields.

See the website and full catalogue for more information. (With great thanks to Jo Bailey of the College of Creative Arts, Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand, who designed them.)

The images below represent a selection of the still images shown in the exhibition but visit the full site for complete and high resolution images.
