People often lose awareness of the sound of their environment. Scientists are no exception so this piece draws out the ambient sounds of the TRIUMF laboratory. The ambience progresses from entryways to meetings rooms to control rooms to the experimental floor, an industrial setting full of the sounds of whirring pumps and pulsating electrical systems.
This piece was completed during a 2015 residency at TRIUMF, Canada’s national nuclear and high-energy physics laboratory.
